The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a comprehensive 7,500-page charge sheet in the investigation of the 2025 Red Fort blast that resulted in 11 fatalities and numerous injuries. The charge sheet indicates that Triacetone Triperoxide (TATP) was used in the vehicle-borne improvised explosive device responsible for the attack. The accused, including the main perpetrator Dr. Umer Un Nabi, who died during the incident, are linked to Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind (AGuH), a group associated with Al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS). The NIA's findings reveal that the accused had reconstituted AGuH as 'AGuH Interim' during a clandestine meeting in Srinagar in 2022, following a failed migration attempt to Afghanistan. They launched 'Operation Heavenly Hind' with the goal of overthrowing the Indian government and establishing Sharia law. The investigation uncovered that the accused engaged in recruiting, propagating violent ideologies, stockpiling arms, and manufacturing explosives using commercially available chemicals. Additionally, the NIA utilized DNA fingerprinting to identify the deceased perpetrator and discovered plans for targeting security establishments in Jammu and Kashmir and beyond.
