The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a comprehensive 7,500-page chargesheet against 10 individuals in connection with the November 10, 2025, VBIED car bomb blast near the Red Fort in New Delhi, which resulted in 11 fatalities and numerous injuries. Among those charged are Dr. Shaheen Saeed from Lucknow and Dr. Adil Ahmed Rather from Saharanpur, both of whom are alleged to have connections to a radical terror conspiracy involving educated professionals linked to Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind (AGuH), a faction associated with Al-Qaida in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS). The NIA claims that the accused regrouped under a new formation called “AGuH Interim” after a failed attempt to travel to Afghanistan.
Dr. Saeed's profile has raised eyebrows due to her academic achievements, including her MBBS and MD in Pharmacology. However, her life reportedly deteriorated after her divorce, leading to her alleged involvement with the extremist network. She and another co-accused were arrested shortly after the blast. Dr. Rather, a postgraduate specialist in internal medicine, was arrested just days before the explosion. He is accused of using his professional contacts to expand the extremist network.
The chargesheet alleges that the accused stockpiled arms and manufactured improvised explosive devices, utilizing Triacetone Triperoxide (TATP) as the explosive material. The NIA's investigation continues as they seek to identify additional suspects linked to this alleged terror network.
