On May 15, 2023, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) launched an integrated hydrogen-powered shuttle bus service in Central Vista, New Delhi. This initiative, developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs and the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, aims to enhance last-mile connectivity in the area. Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) has supplied two state-of-the-art buses, each with a seating capacity of 35 passengers and equipped with GPS tracking and CCTV systems for safety and efficiency. The shuttle service will operate on working days during peak hours, specifically from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm and 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm. DMRC's Director of Operations, Amit Kumar Jain, highlighted the service's role in connecting offices and metro stations in Central Vista, noting the government's plans to extend shuttle services to connect government colonies with metro stations. This initiative underscores DMRC's commitment to providing sustainable and environmentally friendly transportation options, complementing the existing metro services.
