The rise in national cases was largely driven by Bihar, which saw a staggering 177% increase, recording 5,037 cases in 2024. In contrast, Uttar Pradesh's juvenile crime rate was 1.4 per lakh of its child population, which is the largest in India at 853.3 lakh according to the 2011 Census. Other states such as Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan also reported significant juvenile crime figures, while Delhi had the highest rate among Union Territories at 41.6 per lakh. The NCRB data highlights the varying trends in juvenile crime across different states and regions, indicating a complex landscape of youth offenses in India.
