Editorial Standards

How Samachaar.AI curates news, uses AI responsibly, and handles corrections. Built for transparency.

Our Mission

Samachaar.AI exists to make the world's news faster to understand and accessible across languages. We aggregate reporting from established news sources and use AI to produce concise summaries, key takeaways, and explanatory context — so readers can stay informed in less time, in the language they prefer.

We believe AI should amplify human journalism, not replace it. Every article we publish links back to the original source. We add layered explanations on top — we don't pretend the reporting is ours.

Who Runs Samachaar

Samachaar.AI is owned and operated by Tachyonix AI Private Limited, a company registered in India.

Editorial decisions, source selection, AI prompt engineering, and corrections are managed directly by the Samachaar team. No advertiser, political party, or external organization influences our content selection or framing.

For editorial inquiries, story tips, or to report errors, contact editorial@samachaar.info. See our Contact page for other channels.

How We Select Sources

We aggregate news from 400+ established publications across 8 languages (English, Hindi, Spanish, French, German, Arabic, Portuguese, Italian). Sources include:

  • India: Hindustan Times, The Hindu, The Economic Times, NDTV, Indian Express, Business Standard, Mint, News 18, Amar Ujala, Jagran, and others
  • International wire & quality outlets: Reuters, AP, BBC, The Guardian, and regional flagship papers per language
  • Vetted regional sources: chosen for editorial reliability, fact-checking history, and topic coverage

We de-prioritize wire-aggregator reposts (e.g., Yahoo News redistribution of AP/Reuters wires) when the original source is already in our index. This avoids inflating our feed with near-duplicate copies.

How We Use AI

We're committed to transparency about AI's role on Samachaar. Here's exactly what AI does — and what it doesn't:

What AI generates

  • Headline rewrites — clearer, more informative headlines (the original is preserved and linked)
  • TLDR summaries — one-line gist of the article
  • Key takeaways — bulleted list of the main facts
  • FAQs — questions a reader might have, with answers grounded in the article
  • Key numbers — extracted figures with context
  • Impact analysis — who is affected, what actions might follow
  • Topic tags & entity extraction — for search, filtering, and related-article surfacing
  • Geographic location — extracted from article content (city, country) for our world map view
  • Quality and significance scoring — internal signal used to rank articles in our feed
  • Reader poll questions — generated from article themes for engagement

What AI does NOT do

  • AI does not write original reporting. Every article on Samachaar is sourced from an established news publication, with a direct link to the original.
  • AI does not invent facts, quotes, or events. Our prompts are constrained to summarize and contextualize the source content.
  • AI does not fabricate sources. Source attribution is preserved from the publisher's own metadata.
  • AI does not select what counts as news. Source selection and category mapping are governed by human rules; AI applies those rules.

Models we use

We use general-purpose large language models (currently Groq Llama-class and OpenAI models) for summarization and metadata extraction. We continuously tune prompts to favor accuracy and caution over speculation.

Quality Scoring

Each article is scored 1–10 by our AI for journalistic substance: depth of reporting, clarity, sourcing strength, and significance. Articles below quality 7 are excluded from our public sitemap and Top Stories recommendations. Articles tagged as opinion or editorial are labeled as such and analyzed differently from straight reporting.

Corrections Policy

If you find a factual error in any article — whether in the source content or in our AI-generated summary, headline, or takeaways — please email us at editorial@samachaar.info.

What we do when we receive a correction request:

  • Verify the claim against the original source and other reporting
  • Correct AI-generated content within 24 hours if our summary, headline, or takeaways were wrong
  • Add a correction note on the article when the fix is material
  • Forward source-content errors to the original publisher when the error is in their reporting (we do not modify source content)

Independence & Conflicts of Interest

Samachaar.AI does not accept payment for editorial placement, article ordering, or favorable framing. Sponsored content or advertising, if introduced in the future, will be clearly labeled as such and visually separated from editorial content.

We have no political affiliation and no contractual relationships with the news sources we aggregate beyond standard public RSS and licensed-API access.
