The Pune police administration has faced embarrassment after suspending two constables, Hanumant Gulab Kamble and Ganesh Shahaji Kaspate, due to serious allegations. Kamble, attached to the Kalepadal police station, was suspended following a complaint from his wife, who accused him of prolonged physical and mental harassment. She claimed that Kamble had become irregular in returning home, often citing work-related duties as excuses for late nights. Allegations included infidelity and financial misconduct, with claims that he used his wife's pledged ornaments to buy a vehicle for another woman. In a separate case, Kaspate, from the Koregaon Park police station, was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau for allegedly demanding bribes from a businessman related to a non-bailable warrant. He had previously extorted ₹5 lakh (approximately $6,000 USD) from the complainant and was caught accepting an additional ₹1.5 lakh (approximately $1,800 USD). Both suspensions reflect ongoing issues within the Pune police force.
