The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has issued revised medical examination guidelines for candidates seeking recruitment as Constable (GD) in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles for the 2026 examination. The revisions, based on a clarification from the Ministry of Home Affairs, specifically amend Para 2(d) of the 'Uniform Guidelines for Recruitment Medical Examination in CAPFs and Assam Rifles.' Notably, candidates will no longer face disqualification during the Physical Standard Test (PST) due to weight. Instead, height, weight, and chest measurements will be recorded by the PST Board, while the Medical Officer will assess weight separately during the Medical Examination Test (MET). This change aims to ensure that candidates are accurately evaluated based on Body Mass Index (BMI) standards rather than being prematurely disqualified. Candidates are encouraged to maintain a healthy BMI to avoid issues during final medical evaluations. Other terms and conditions of the recruitment process remain unchanged.
