The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the official notification for the Stenographer Grade C and D Examination 2026, announcing approximately 731 vacancies across various departments. The online application process commenced on April 24, 2026, and will remain open until May 15, 2026, with the option to pay application fees until May 16. A correction window will be available from May 20 to 21. Eligibility requires candidates to have passed Class 12 from a recognized board, with age limits set at 18 to 30 years for Grade C and 18 to 27 years for Grade D, along with applicable relaxations for reserved categories. The selection process consists of a Computer-Based Test (CBT) and a skill test in stenography, with the CBT covering general intelligence, general awareness, and English language questions totaling 200 marks. A penalty of 0.25 marks will be deducted for incorrect answers. The skill test requires candidates to complete a 10-minute dictation, with speeds of 100 words per minute for Grade C and 80 words per minute for Grade D. The application fee is set at ₹100 for general and OBC candidates, while exemptions apply for women, SC/ST applicants, persons with disabilities, and ex-servicemen. The CBT is tentatively scheduled for July-August 2026.
