The National Testing Agency (NTA) has opened applications for the University Grant Commission - National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) June 2026 session, scheduled to be conducted from June 22 to June 30, 2026. The application window will be available from April 29 to May 20, 2026, with a last date for fee payment also on May 20. The exam is crucial for determining eligibility for Assistant Professorship and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in Indian universities and colleges. The application fees vary by category: ₹1,150 for General candidates, ₹600 for Gen-EWS and OBC-NCL candidates, and ₹325 for SC, ST, PwD, and third gender candidates. UGC-NET will be conducted in computer-based test mode and will cover 87 subjects, with two papers: Paper I focusing on teaching and research aptitude, and Paper II being subject-specific. Candidates must hold a Master’s degree or equivalent and can apply online through the official UGC-NET portal.
