Rahul Meena, a 19-year-old former domestic worker, has been arrested for the murder and rape of a 22-year-old woman, the daughter of a senior Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer, in South Delhi. The victim, an IIT Delhi graduate preparing for the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) exams, was attacked in her study room early on Wednesday morning. Meena, who had previously worked for the family, used his knowledge of their routine to gain access to the house while the parents were out for their gym session.

After overpowering the victim and leaving her unconscious, Meena attempted to rob the house, but struggled to open a biometric locker using her blood-stained finger. He eventually fled with cash and jewelry after abandoning the body. Police later apprehended him at a hotel in Dwarka, Delhi. Initial investigations suggest that Meena's addiction to online gaming and gambling may have motivated his actions, with police considering both robbery and sexual assault as possible motives for the crime.
