On April 27, security guard Subrata Sen was attacked while on duty at an under-construction building in Naya Nagar, Mira Road, Thane, India. The assailant, Jabar Zubair Ansari, approached Sen under the pretense of asking for directions before questioning his religious identity. After a brief conversation, Ansari attacked Sen with a knife, injuring him. The assault continued in the supervisor's cabin, where he also stabbed Sen's supervisor, Rajkumar Mishra. Following the attack, Sen sought refuge and later reported the incident to the police. The Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad has since launched an investigation, treating it as a potential lone wolf terror attack. Investigators discovered handwritten notes at Ansari's residence expressing his desire to join ISIS, suggesting he may have been radicalized during his time living alone after returning from the United States, where he had been a science graduate and online chemistry tutor.
