In a significant operation against organized crime, Punjab Police dismantled two smuggling rings in Amritsar, Punjab, on Thursday, resulting in the arrest of three suspects and the seizure of over 10 kg of heroin and firearms. The first operation led to the arrest of Lovepreet Singh, who was intercepted on the Amritsar-Jalandhar GT Road with 6 kg of heroin hidden in his vehicle. Investigations revealed he was directed by Antarpreet Singh, a handler based in Dubai, who orchestrated the procurement and distribution of drugs. In a parallel operation, police arrested two associates linked to a cross-border smuggling module, recovering 4.108 kg of heroin and four sophisticated pistols. These actions are part of the Yudh Nashian Virudh campaign, aimed at combating narcotics in the state. Earlier this month, police had already seized 64.62 kg of heroin in another operation linked to international networks.
