In a significant security operation, the counter-intelligence wing of the Jalandhar police, along with central agencies and Kapurthala police, dismantled two ISI-backed espionage modules operating in Kapurthala, Punjab, India. The operation resulted in the arrest of three individuals, including Sukhwinder Singh, alias Sukha, who were allegedly using advanced solar-powered surveillance technology to monitor sensitive military sites. Authorities seized four mobile phones and sophisticated solar CCTV equipment capable of 4G connectivity, which allowed for continuous surveillance. Punjab's Director General of Police, Gaurav Yadav, confirmed that the primary goal of the espionage activities was to covertly monitor army establishments and transmit live footage to handlers based in Pakistan. The investigation revealed that the accused were in direct contact with their ISI handlers and had installed these devices at various sensitive locations. Following the arrests, a case was registered with the state special operation cell in Amritsar, and law enforcement agencies are conducting further investigations to uncover the broader espionage network and the technical channels used for these activities.
