In a disturbing incident on Monday, Zaib Zubair Ansari, a 31-year-old man, was arrested for stabbing two individuals at a construction site in Mira Road, Maharashtra. The Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) is investigating Ansari, who appears to have been a radicalised 'lone wolf'. His internet search history revealed that he had been viewing violent content against Muslims, and notes found in his apartment referenced 'lone wolf' attacks and the Islamic State. Victims Subroto Sen and Rajkeshar Mishra reported that Ansari targeted them after identifying them as Hindus. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis highlighted the case as a significant example of self-radicalisation, stating that Ansari's actions were driven by extremist ideologies. The ATS and the National Investigation Agency (NIA) are now working together to uncover the sources of Ansari's radicalisation, which may involve a range of materials, including literature and online content.
