In a major development for Indian law enforcement, Mohammad Salim Dola, a high-ranking associate of fugitive underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, was extradited to Mumbai after being arrested in Turkey. Dola had been evading capture for several years, reportedly managing the drug trafficking interests of Ibrahim's organization from Turkey. Following a coordinated operation involving international agencies, Dola was apprehended and brought to India, where he was presented before the Patiala House Court in Delhi. The court granted a two-day transit remand for the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) to transfer him to Mumbai, where he is currently being processed. Dola faces serious charges under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, which carries severe penalties for drug trafficking offenses.
