During a recent defense summit, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh asserted that India executed Operation Sindoor on its own terms, fully prepared for a prolonged conflict if necessary. He highlighted the Sudarshan Chakra Air Defence system as a significant project showcasing the effective use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in military applications. Singh emphasized that India's military-industrial complex is capable of meeting both peacetime and wartime demands, having demonstrated its surge capacity during the operation. He noted that the operation lasted 72 hours, but extensive preparatory work was crucial for its success. Singh also mentioned a notable shift in global perception regarding India's indigenous weapons, leading to increased interest from various nations. Furthermore, he revealed that contracts worth nearly ₹4.5 lakh crore (approximately $54 billion USD) have been signed for defense procurements over the past two years, indicating a robust commitment to enhancing India's military capabilities. The summit also addressed the evolving nature of warfare, with a focus on integrating traditional and modern weapon systems to ensure long-term operational effectiveness.
