The Karnataka Cabinet has made significant strides in infrastructure and welfare by approving a ₹18,133 crore suburban rail project around Bengaluru, aimed at enhancing public transport. This project will cover 7,481 acres across nine villages in the Bengaluru South district and Ramanagara taluk. Additionally, the Cabinet expressed support for the Hyderabad–Bengaluru and Chennai–Bengaluru high-speed rail corridors, which will improve connectivity in the region. A ₹600 crore action plan for minority colonies was also approved, countering criticisms of political motivations behind minority welfare initiatives. In a notable industrial move, 140 acres in Bengaluru's Signature Business Park were allocated to Applied Materials Inc for a ₹780 crore project. Furthermore, ₹558.95 crore was earmarked for the Universal Newborn Screening Scheme to detect rare congenital disorders, showcasing the government's commitment to health initiatives.
