At the ANI National Security Summit 2.0, Samir V Kamat, Chairman of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), announced that the agency is ready to proceed with the development of the Agni-VI ballistic missile, pending government approval. This missile is anticipated to be an advanced intercontinental ballistic missile with enhanced capabilities compared to the existing Agni series. Kamat also discussed India's progress in hypersonic missile technology, indicating that the hypersonic glide missile program is ahead and initial trials are expected soon.
