The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially released the notification for the UGC NET June 2026 exam, with the application period commencing on April 29, 2026, and closing on May 20, 2026. This examination allows candidates to qualify for the role of Assistant Professor or secure a Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in universities and colleges across India. Applicants must have a minimum of 55% marks in their master's degree from a recognized institution, while OBC (NCL), SC, ST, and PwD candidates require at least 50% marks. A significant change this year permits students with a four-year undergraduate degree to apply, provided they have 75% marks in their degree. The application fee is set at ₹1,150 for General candidates, ₹600 for EWS and OBC (NCL), and ₹325 for SC, ST, and Divyang candidates. The exam will take place from June 22 to 30, 2026, with the admit card available on June 15 and exam city slips released on June 10.
