On Friday, a gold chain was snatched from Raj Kaur, a non-resident Indian (NRI) woman from Greece, in the Basti Jodhewal area of Ludhiana, Punjab, India. The incident occurred around 3:00 PM when Raj and her sister stepped out to visit a bank for KYC formalities. CCTV footage captured a turbaned man on a black motorcycle, who initially rode past before turning back to target the women. As he lunged for Raj's chain, weighing over 20 grams, both women fought back, grappling with the robber. Despite their efforts, the assailant managed to escape after residents rushed to help. The police, alerted to the incident, discovered that the robber's motorcycle had a fake number plate and are currently investigating by reviewing additional CCTV footage in the area.
