The management of Raksha Anusandhan School (RAV) in Dehradun, which has received partial funding from the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), has been transferred from the Defence Research Educational Society (DRES) to the DAV College Trust & Management Society effective April 20. This change has raised concerns among the school's staff and teachers, who fear that their salary structure may be adversely affected. Established in 1993 and affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), RAV was part of a group of seven schools receiving financial support from DRDO to facilitate education for children of its employees in remote areas. A DRDO official clarified that the organization’s financial assistance does not equate to ownership or administrative control over the school. The DRES president stated that the transition aims to ensure better governance and operational efficiency. However, despite these assurances, protests from the staff continue, indicating significant unease about the management change.
