The Delhi Government Schools Teachers’ Association (GSTA) has formally addressed Education Minister Ashish Sood regarding the scheduling conflict between remedial classes and census duties assigned to teachers. The Directorate of Education (DoE) announced that remedial classes for classes 9, 10, and 12 will take place from May 11 to May 23, while teachers are also required to perform census duties starting May 16. GSTA general secretary Ajay Veer Yadav highlighted in a letter dated May 9 that the simultaneous demands could impede teachers' effectiveness. Some teachers have voiced concerns about the logistical challenges of managing both responsibilities, as both require physical presence. A school principal acknowledged the overlap would last only about a week, suggesting that remedial classes could be conducted until 10:30 AM, allowing teachers to begin census work shortly thereafter. However, this arrangement may extend working hours significantly for teachers.
