This initiative aims to promote fuel conservation and reduce the reliance on private vehicles. Following a meeting with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Singh instructed the transport department to enhance bus services during peak hours to encourage public transport use. Special bus services will also be coordinated for offices with more than 500 employees through the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC). Additionally, an audit of the existing pool car system will be conducted, and the allocation of surplus vehicles to officials will be withdrawn. Other measures include minimizing diesel and petrol usage, ensuring energy savings by switching off unnecessary lights after 10 PM, and maintaining air-conditioning temperatures at 25-26 degrees Celsius. Singh also mentioned exploring the implementation of the “Chandauli model” for biogas energy generation at corporation depots, and prioritizing bio-bitumen in construction projects.
