The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority is implementing a paid surface parking system to alleviate traffic congestion and enhance revenue generation. This initiative will involve a public-private partnership to create a smart parking management system, addressing issues caused by unregulated roadside parking. Greater Noida, which spans approximately 380 sq km and includes around 100 sectors, is experiencing increased residential and commercial activity, particularly with the upcoming launch of commercial flights at Noida International Airport on June 15. The authority plans to invite an agency to design, develop, and operate this system, which will feature real-time information on parking space availability, cashless payment options, and improved vehicle safety measures. The project will also include the installation of infrastructure such as barriers, sensors, and CCTV cameras. Interested firms can submit their proposals until May 28. This comprehensive approach aims to streamline parking and reduce congestion in high-traffic areas like Jagat Farm Market and Gaur City Mall, which are known for their heavy footfall and parking challenges.
