The fire department has issued notices to 139 additional buildings, with approximately 80% of these being residential. The district has experienced a worrying increase in fire incidents, recording 1,437 cases in 2025 alone, compared to 921 in 2021. Chief Fire Officer Rahul Pal highlighted that many buildings failed to renew their No Objection Certificates (NOCs) or had non-functional fire safety systems. A recent fire at Gaur Green Avenue, which was successfully contained due to operational firefighting systems, underscored the importance of compliance. District Magistrate Ravinder Kumar Mandar has called for strict adherence to fire safety norms across various structures, including congested markets and industrial units. Furthermore, the Ghaziabad Development Authority has allocated ₹100 crore (approximately $12 million USD) to acquire hydraulic platforms capable of reaching 30-32 storeys, addressing the current limitation of only having one platform that can reach 15-17 storeys.
