During a recent visit to India, Renault Group's CEO, Francois Provost, emphasized the growing importance of Chennai in the company's global strategy. This visit follows the unveiling of Renault's futuREady 2030 strategy, which positions India as a critical hub for engineering, manufacturing, and exports. India accounts for over a third of Renault's total industry volume growth, marking a significant shift in the company's approach to the Indian market. Renault plans to increase its market share and aims to expand its product lineup to seven models by 2030, leveraging its manufacturing base in Oragadam, Chennai, which has a production capacity of 500,000 units. The technical center in Chennai, employing around 6,000 engineers, will focus on developing next-generation vehicles for both domestic and international markets. With these strategic moves, Renault is set to enhance its position in India, especially as it seeks to establish itself as a major player in the region's automotive landscape.
