The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has launched a new entity, Delhi Metro International Limited (DMIL), to oversee metro projects and operations outside of Delhi and internationally. Former Indian Railway Traffic Service officer Sanjay Jamuar has been appointed as the CEO of DMIL. This initiative, supported by the Central government, aims to expand DMRC's influence in metro development globally. DMRC has previously played a significant role in metro projects across India, including Chennai, Mumbai, and Patna, and has been involved as a consultant for the Dhaka Metro project in Bangladesh. The DMIL will provide advisory services to various authorities and lenders, helping to develop and enhance metro and transit systems. Jamuar brings extensive experience from his work in Indian Railways and international exposure in countries like the UK, USA, and France, which will be instrumental in DMIL's operations.
