Prayagraj Junction, located in Prayagraj district, Uttar Pradesh, India, is set to evolve into a modern lifestyle and leisure hub. The North Central Railway has announced plans for a 20,000 square metre multi-purpose facility on the Civil Lines side of the station. This development will include a food court, fun park, gaming zone, turf sports grounds, and a hotel, catering to both rail passengers and local residents. Dr. Amit Malaviya, Senior Public Relations Officer of North Central Railway, reported that construction of a nine-floor multi-storey building is progressing rapidly. Tenders have been invited for commercial, recreational, and sports activities adjacent to the new building. The proposed centre will be strategically located near Nawab Yusuf Road, with access from four roads, ensuring smooth movement within the busy Civil Lines area. The deadline for submitting Expressions of Interest (EOI) is May 13. Railway authorities emphasize that the design must align with the station's architecture and not disrupt existing traffic. This redevelopment aims to enhance passenger facilities, generate non-fare revenue, and establish Prayagraj Junction as a vibrant city destination.
