Penny Wong (Australia's Foreign Affairs Minister) is set to visit Japan, China, and South Korea as part of a diplomatic mission to secure fuel and energy supplies for Australia. Amid ongoing disruptions in global energy markets due to the Middle East conflict, Wong emphasized the importance of maintaining reliable energy partnerships. The Australian government has reported that the country currently possesses more fuel than before the Iran war, thanks to additional shipments. Wong's engagements are aimed at ensuring that Australia remains prioritized as a reliable energy partner in the Indo-Pacific region. In addition to these diplomatic efforts, the Australian government announced a significant investment of $750 million USD over the next seven years to acquire 268 new armoured vehicles, which will be manufactured in regional Victoria. Defence Minister Richard Marles also revealed a $450 million USD funding boost for upgrades to protected mobility vehicles, highlighting the government's commitment to enhancing national defense capabilities.
