The Special Operations Group (SOG) of Rajasthan Police has uncovered a multi-state link in the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak investigation, which spans Maharashtra, Haryana, and Rajasthan. Following the preliminary investigation, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has taken over the case after the examination was cancelled due to integrity concerns. Rajasthan's IG, Ajay Pal Lamba, reported that coordinated questioning led to the discovery that the question paper was sent to Rajasthan from a resident of Haryana, who received it from Nashik, Maharashtra. Over 24 suspects have been presented to the CBI, which is now conducting its own inquiries. Despite the investigation, no connections have been found to previously known paper leak syndicates in Rajasthan. Additionally, it was noted that the leaked materials were already in the public domain, with PDFs of Chemistry and Biology papers matching the exam questions. The NEET-UG examination, which serves as the single entrance test for medical courses, was conducted on May 3, 2026, with approximately 22.79 lakh candidates participating across 5,400 centers.
