The Goa government is set to implement a 'sentiment analysis' project aimed at collecting feedback from patients treated in state-run hospitals, including the Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) near Panaji. Health Minister Vishwajit Rane announced that an agency has been commissioned to gather insights from patients regarding their experiences. This feedback will be utilized to enhance the quality of healthcare services and facilities. Rane emphasized the importance of improving processes to reduce patient wait times, particularly in casualty wards. Additionally, the government plans to issue a gazetted notification outlining guidelines for nurses' conduct, ensuring collaboration with the Nursing Association before implementation. To further support patients, trained caretakers will be available for those whose relatives cannot attend to them. A gap analysis of manpower at GMCH is already underway and will be extended to other hospitals. The government is also progressing towards a paperless hospital system, building on the existing Health Management Information System at GMCH.
