Last week, the combined market capitalization of seven out of the ten most valuable companies in India decreased by ₹1.54 lakh crore. The decline was led by Reliance Industries, which saw a significant drop of ₹46,078.3 crore, bringing its market value down to ₹17,87,039.40 crore. Other notable losses included HDFC Bank, which lost ₹33,333.06 crore, and Bharti Airtel, which saw a decline of ₹25,408.96 crore. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) also experienced a reduction of ₹22,920.58 crore. In contrast, three companies—State Bank of India, Larsen & Toubro, and Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC)—gained in market value. State Bank of India increased by ₹13,753.62 crore, while Larsen & Toubro rose by ₹20,608.43 crore. Overall, the BSE Sensex fell by 639.61 points, or 0.84%, and the NSE Nifty dropped by 171.55 points, or 0.72%. Reliance Industries continues to hold its position as the most valuable company in India, followed closely by HDFC Bank and Bharti Airtel.
