In a recent trading week, the combined market capitalization of seven of India's top ten valued firms decreased by ₹1.54 trillion, primarily driven by significant losses from Reliance Industries. The BSE benchmark Sensex fell by 639.61 points (0.84%) and the NSE Nifty dropped by 171.55 points (0.72%). Reliance Industries experienced the largest decline in market value, losing ₹46,078.3 crore, bringing its total valuation to ₹17,87,039.40 crore. Other firms that faced valuation declines include HDFC Bank, which lost ₹33,333.06 crore, and Bharti Airtel, which saw a drop of ₹25,408.96 crore. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) also suffered a loss of ₹22,920.58 crore. In contrast, State Bank of India, Larsen & Toubro, and Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) reported gains in their market valuations, with State Bank of India increasing by ₹13,753.62 crore. Despite the losses, Reliance Industries remains the most valued firm in India, followed by HDFC Bank and Bharti Airtel.
