Y. Balaji Kiran, a 2013-batch Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS) officer, has assumed the additional responsibility of Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) for the South Coast Railway (SCoR). He has been serving in the railway since November 2025 as the Deputy General Manager-cum-Secretary to the General Manager. Kiran's extensive experience in railway management includes previous positions such as Senior Divisional Operations Manager for the Guntakal Division and Senior Divisional Commercial Manager for both the Secunderabad and Hyderabad Divisions. His educational background is notable, with a B.Tech in Computer Science from the Sri Kalahasteeswara Institute of Technology (SKIT) in Srikalahasti, an MBA from Osmania University, and Master’s degrees in Political Science and Industrial Relations. Hailing from Naidupeta in Andhra Pradesh, Kiran began his career as a software engineer in Singapore before transitioning to civil services. He is also recognized for founding the NGO Asaya and previously served as a director of the Sri Chaitanya IAS Academy in Delhi.
