Gurpreet Singh, a 45-year-old ex-army personnel from Amritsar, Punjab, is under investigation for allegedly committing three murders in Chandauli, Uttar Pradesh, between May 10 and 11. The first victim, Mangru Chaudhary, was shot aboard the PDDU Nagar-Tadighat passenger train near Kuchhman railway station. Following this, Singh boarded the Jammu Tawi Express and shot Dinesh Shah, a passenger traveling with family, in the S-2 coach. On the morning of May 11, he entered a private hospital in Kamalpur, where he shot Laxmina Devi, a 55-year-old woman, before being apprehended by locals. Singh reportedly confessed to the murders, stating he acted out of anger after losing his job as a security guard. After his arrest, Singh attempted to escape and was shot by police, later succumbing to his injuries. Investigators recovered multiple firearms and cartridges linked to the crimes, confirming that all three murders were committed by Singh.
