In a focused effort to tackle crime, police in Mohali, Punjab, India, arrested 158 proclaimed offenders and successfully cleared 255 cases during an 11-month special drive from June 1, 2025, to April 30, 2026. The operation was conducted under the supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police Harmandeep Singh Hans and Deputy Superintendent of Police Ajitpal Singh. Police teams from all stations collaborated to identify and apprehend offenders, with five declared under Sections 82/83 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) and 230 under Section 299. Among those arrested, eight were involved in serious crimes, and ten were linked to cheque bounce cases. Additionally, 20 offenders were removed from the list due to convictions or acquittals, while 77 were struck off due to death. The police continue to work on tracing remaining absconders, deploying special teams to ensure all offenders are accounted for.
