A wedding celebration in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, India, turned tragic when a dispute over spilled chicken curry led to a violent clash late Friday night. The incident occurred during the wedding procession of Sameer Kumar, a sanitation worker, in Jungle Tulsiram village. Tensions escalated during dancing to DJ music, culminating in a rush for food that resulted in chicken curry spilling on a guest's shirt. This sparked an argument that quickly turned violent, with guests using belts, sticks, and bricks as weapons. Sumit Kumar (26), a member of the groom's side, suffered critical injuries and was later pronounced dead at BRD Medical College. Six others were hospitalized with injuries. In response, the senior superintendent of police, Kaustubh, suspended the local police outpost in-charge and seven individuals were arrested in connection with the incident. The aftermath left the wedding venue littered with broken bricks and debris.
