On Saturday, Jogeshwari police in Mumbai booked four individuals for attempting to extort ₹15 lakh (approximately $18,000 USD) from Dr. Prakash Umaji Pawar, a 45-year-old medical officer at the Trauma Care Hospital. The accused, including a woman, allegedly blackmailed Pawar using a video that purportedly showed him engaged in private practice, which is against government regulations for doctors. The video was reportedly recorded on April 8, 2026, while Pawar was at a café in Malad West, working on fitness certificate uploads for Hajj pilgrims after hours.
