On Saturday night in Ludhiana, Punjab, India, a 21-year-old man named Aditya was attacked and robbed by four armed men on Daba Road while meeting friends. The assailants, armed with sharp and blunt weapons, intercepted Aditya and his friends, causing two to flee. Aditya was assaulted and robbed of his mobile phone and ₹4,200 (approximately $50 USD) in cash. Fortunately, local residents intervened, overpowering three of the suspects, identified as Gurpreet Singh from Vishkarma Colony, Shankar from Jain Colony, and Prakash Bahadur from Dholewal. The police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) and are conducting raids to apprehend the fourth suspect, who managed to escape. Inspector Gurshinder Kaur, the station house officer at Division number 6 police station, confirmed that the suspects face charges under Sections 304 (snatching) and 3(5) (criminal acts by multiple persons) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The police are also investigating the criminal backgrounds of the arrested individuals.
