During its 15th monthly meeting, the high-powered committee appointed by the Supreme Court for the Banke Behari Temple in Vrindavan reported that devotees offered ₹4.90 crore in the last three months. The committee, led by retired Justice Ashok Kumar, emphasized the need to remove encroachments near the temple and improve access for devotees. Enhanced Darshan timings and the tradition of 'phool bangla' continue, with ₹80 lakh collected for flower decorations. The committee is also reviewing the performance of the security agency deployed at the temple, which will continue for two more months, with a change in uniform color from black to yellow to suit the temple's religious atmosphere. Additionally, the committee is addressing issues related to e-rickshaws obstructing entry points and the inferior quality of 'peda' sweets sold nearby. A deadline of May 30 has been set for listing items in the temple's premises, and efforts are underway to resolve a pending income tax refund of ₹5 crore, which is expected to yield an additional ₹1 crore in interest.
