In the 2025-26 academic year, the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) achieved a record revenue of ₹127.18 crore from its school excursion services, an increase of ₹33.29 crore from the previous year. This revenue was generated through 25,558 bus trips, providing safe transportation for lakhs of students across Maharashtra. Schools and colleges organized excursions to various religious and historical sites, with MSRTC ensuring affordable travel, especially for rural students, due to a 50% fare concession offered by the state government. To accommodate the growing demand, MSRTC deployed a significant number of buses, including newly introduced and upgraded vehicles, which enhanced the travel experience and satisfaction among students and schools. State Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik emphasized the importance of school excursions for students, highlighting MSRTC's commitment to safety, reliability, and affordability. He encouraged educational institutions to prefer MSRTC services over private operators, reinforcing the corporation's dedication to supporting educational travel and improving its services in future academic years.
