On Sunday evening, a religious procession in Goregaon East, Mumbai, escalated into a communal clash, leading to the arrest of ten family members. The violence erupted around 5:30 PM near Santosh Nagar Market when complaints were made about loud music. The situation deteriorated after accusations of damage to the music system, resulting in a physical altercation involving sticks and swords. Police intervened with a mild lathi charge to control the situation. Three participants were injured and taken to a trauma care hospital in Jogeshwari, where they are reported to be stable. In the aftermath, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) conducted a demolition drive targeting alleged illegal structures associated with the accused, citing routine action. However, local residents expressed concerns that these premises were linked to drug-related activities. Authorities are monitoring the situation to prevent further escalation of tensions in the area.
