In a brazen daylight robbery on Monday, two masked individuals stole ₹6 lakh (approximately $7,200 USD) from a Punjab National Bank branch located on Mithapur Road in Jalandhar, Punjab, India. The incident took place around 2:30 PM, when one of the robbers entered the bank, brandishing a gun and threatening a woman cashier to hand over the cash. The accomplice waited outside on a scooter for a quick getaway. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Manpreet Singh Dhillon confirmed that the robbery was captured on CCTV, which has been secured for investigation. Police have formed four teams to pursue leads and apprehend the suspects. Additionally, it was noted that there was no security guard present inside the bank at the time of the robbery, prompting police to issue a notice to the bank management regarding this security lapse.
