In a significant robbery case, three individuals were arrested for stealing ₹17 lakh (approximately $20,500 USD) from a collection agent in Vishal Nagar, Ludhiana, Punjab, India. The main suspect, Gurdeep Singh, a 21-year-old former employee of the liquor company, had prior knowledge of the cash collection schedule, which he exploited to plan the robbery with his associates, Harmanpreet Singh and Dheeraj Kumar, both 24 years old. The incident occurred on April 17, when they intercepted collection agent Hardeep Singh, assaulted him, and fled with the cash. Police have since recovered ₹11 lakh from the suspects and seized weapons used in the crime. Investigations revealed that part of the stolen money was spent on drugs and hotel stays, and efforts are ongoing to recover the remaining cash and identify any additional accomplices.
