On April 20, a petrol bomb was thrown at the house of jeweller Darshan Kumar in Dhuri, Sangrur district, Punjab, India, due to a case of mistaken identity. Police confirmed that the actual target was Ranjit Singh, the father-in-law of the mastermind, Rohit alias Ghoda, who is currently at large. The attack, carried out by three accomplices—Vansh alias Kali, Sameer alias Kaka, and Sameer alias Poppy—resulted in damage to Kumar's property, including his main gate and car, but thankfully caused no injuries. Following a complaint filed by Kumar, police registered a case under Section 326(g) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Section 5 of the Punjab Prevention of Damage to Public and Private Property Act, 2014. The police arrested the three suspects two days later and recovered the motorcycle used in the crime. Further details will be revealed after the arrest of Rohit.
