The Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has revealed a significant land scam involving custodian land in Jammu district. This scam affects areas such as Asarwan, Mishriwala, Bhalwal, and RS Pura, where land mafia allegedly usurped custodian land in collusion with officials from the custodian and revenue departments. The scam involved the fraudulent allotment of more than 1,000 kanals of custodian land to individuals who were not entitled to it, based on fake orders. Following inputs received by the ACB, a verification process was initiated, leading to the discovery of tampered revenue records. In total, 24 FIRs have been registered, with investigations ongoing. The ACB has also filed three additional FIRs for a more in-depth investigation under the J&K Prevention of Corruption Act, focusing on charges of criminal conspiracy, cheating, forgery, and fraud.
