A tragic accident on Friday claimed the lives of four individuals and left 14 others injured when a speeding dumper collided with a tractor-trolley on the Moradabad–Sambhal highway in Moradabad district, Uttar Pradesh, India. The victims were returning from a pre-wedding ritual in Gurair village when the dumper, loaded with soil, struck their vehicle near the Asadpur culvert. The deceased have been identified as Shanti Devi (55), Suman Singh (30), Ajit Singh (13), and Shristi (8). Local residents and police quickly responded to the scene, transporting the injured to a district hospital, where several are reported to be in critical condition. The dumper driver fled the scene, and police have initiated a manhunt to apprehend him. Superintendent of Police (Rural) Kunwar Akash Singh visited the hospital to monitor the injured and confirmed that a thorough investigation is underway.
