In Mohali, Punjab, police have arrested Pramit Locham and Ajay Mohar, both residents of Hisar, Haryana, for allegedly kidnapping three youths from a paying guest accommodation in Gharuan on April 17. The victims, Ritik Kumar, Ayush Tiwari, and Monu Singh, were abducted by four men and taken to a flat in Mustang City, Kharar, where they were confined. The accused reportedly threatened the victims and coerced their families into transferring a total of ₹1.83 lakh (approximately $2,200 USD) through multiple online transactions. One victim managed to alert the police, prompting an investigation. The police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and are continuing to investigate the case. The arrested individuals were presented in court, where they received police remand for further questioning. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the two remaining suspects, identified as Vikas and Ankit.
