The Suraksha Group, which manages the 165-kilometre-long Yamuna Expressway from Greater Noida to Agra, has submitted a proposal to the Uttar Pradesh government for a 3.5% increase in toll rates. This request is based on a 2012 agreement that stipulates annual toll adjustments, which have not been implemented since 2024. Abhijit Gohil, CEO of the Suraksha Group, stated that the toll has remained unchanged due to restrictions from the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA). The expressway currently accommodates over 50,000 vehicles daily, and with new connections to other expressways and an upcoming airport, traffic is expected to rise further. Current tolls range from ₹247.5 for two-wheelers to ₹3027.75 for oversized vehicles. YEIDA's additional chief executive officer, Manish Meena, confirmed the proposal's submission but noted that no decision has been made yet.
