Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has announced the receipt of its largest-ever order in the domestic metals sector from JSW Steel, valued between ₹10,000 crore and ₹15,000 crore (approximately $1.2 billion to $1.8 billion USD). This significant order is part of JSW Steel's ambitious plan to expand its crude steel processing capacity from 35 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) to over 50 MTPA by 2031. Despite this major win, L&T's shares fell 3.18% to ₹3,992.7 during morning trading, while the BSE Sensex dropped by 311 points. D K Sen, Advisor to the Chairman and Managing Director of L&T, emphasized that this order signifies a defining moment for the company's Minerals & Metals business and reflects the trust placed in L&T's capabilities to deliver significant assets. The long-standing partnership between L&T and JSW Steel, built over more than three decades, continues to enhance India's steel production through innovation and strong execution.
